With the push of your Med Alert button, you will be immediately connected to a live, EMT-trained agent who will assist you in your time of need. Emergency dispatch will be informed of your current location, preferred hospital, and any health conditions or past surgeries that may impact emergency response measures.

Med Alert not only stays on the line with you until help arrives, but also contacts your loved ones to keep them informed as the situation develops. Our EMT-trained emergency response center is available not only for medical emergencies, but also for non-medical situations such as lift assists, fires, burglaries, and more. Every call is handled with the utmost respect and professionalism that Med Alert has provided for many years.

Without a Med Alert button, you would need to reach a phone, dial 911, and explain who you are, where you are, and the nature of the emergency. Emergency services would not have access to your medical history to assist responders, nor would they contact your loved ones to inform them of the situation.

The lockbox add-on is the safest and most efficient way for paramedics to gain entry to a home or apartment during an emergency. The lockbox is a small, durable steel box that securely holds a key. A four-digit code, chosen by the subscriber, is programmed into the lockbox.

If paramedics are dispatched, the Monitoring Center Operator provides them with the lockbox code, allowing emergency personnel to enter the home quickly and safely. This process helps prevent damage to doors, locks, or windows.

The lockbox is available as a one-time purchase or as a monthly rental for a minimal fee.

Our service is customized to meet each individual’s needs. For subscribers who are homebound or rarely go out alone, we recommend an in-home unit. We offer a traditional landline unit that connects to the main phone jack in the home and works with VOIP, DSL, and most cable modem services. For subscribers who no longer have a landline, we also offer a Cellular In-Home Unit.

For subscribers who are active, drive, and spend time outside the home on their own, we offer Mobile Help Devices that provide protection wherever they go within the United States—both inside and outside the home.

In-Home Units (Landline & Cellular In-Home): Subscribers wear a small, lightweight, waterproof help button that can be worn around the neck or on the wrist. The button provides protection throughout an average-size home or apartment, including front and back yards and hallways. It can safely be worn in the bath, shower, and pool.

When the button is pressed, two-way communication is initiated through the base unit. If the subscriber is unable to communicate, we immediately follow the emergency action plan set up by the subscriber. We always stay on the line until help arrives.

Mobile Help Devices:For subscribers who are active, drive, and spend time out and about on their own, we offer Mobile Help Devices that provide protection anywhere in the United States—both inside and outside the home.

These medical alert buttons are water-resistant and can be worn in the shower. When the button is pressed, two-way communication is established through the mobile device, and the subscriber’s current location is identified. If the subscriber is unable to communicate, we follow the emergency action plan set up by the subscriber. We always stay on the line until help arrives.

Communication is not required for assistance. Thousands of our subscribers are hearing impaired, and we can customize the response procedure based on each subscriber’s needs. When a signal is received, we can immediately dispatch 911 or contact a neighbor, friend, or family member to check on the subscriber.

With Med Alert mobile devices, communication is not necessary due to advanced location-tracking capabilities. We also offer monitored mobile devices, where the subscriber’s location can be tracked with or without communication using GPS and/or UTDOA technology.
